Scottish Conservatives and Unionists have selected Ann Ross to be their local candidate in the Banchory and Mid-Deeside ward for next year’s Aberdeenshire Council elections.
Ann was selected by unanimous vote at a well-attended meeting, held by Aberdeenshire Conservative and Unionist Association, as the candidate to stand for election in the Ward 16 Banchory and Mid Deeside in May 2017.
Ann has lived in the north east of Scotland since the age of 17, and at Crathes for 26 years, bringing her family up there. She has served for 11 years as a Community Councillor with the Crathes, Drumoak and Durris Community Council and cares passionately about the local community.
Current Councillor for Banchory and Mid Deeside Jill Webster welcomed her selection:
“I have seen Ann in action as a Community Councillor dealing with local issues and I know she is not only totally committed and works really hard but also gets results.
She has that perfect balance of life’s experience, having worked in both the oil industry and also as a nurse in the NHS, and local knowledge, having lived in the Banchory and Mid Deeside ward most of her life.
I am very happy to endorse her as a truly excellent candidate and know I can move on to other challenges after 14 years knowing the Banchory and Mid Deeside Ward would be in safe hands with Ann.”
