Nanette Milne, Scottish Conservative MSP for the North East and Alexander Burnett, Scottish Conservative MSP candidate for Aberdeenshire West met with SSE planning officials to discuss the proposals by SSE new pylons between Beauly – Blackhillock – Kintore.
Nanette Milne, Scottish Conservative MSP for the North East said:
“I welcome the opportunity to discuss the proposals by SSE for a upgrade to the pylons between Beauly – Blackhillock – Kintore.
“The proposals are still at an early stage with the preferred route not likely to be made public until next year. However, I welcome the assurance that the company is ready to listen and work with local communities and I hope that in the areas where pylons pass through areas of natural and scenic beauty we can look to limit the impact on Aberdeenshire’s outstanding natural scenic beauty.
Alexander Burnett, Scottish Conservative MSP candidate for Aberdeenshire West said:
“It is clear that the proposed upgrade of pylons from Beauly in Inverness-shire to Kintore in Aberdeenshire could have huge impacts on our natural landscape and affect many communities across the North East.
However as it is still in the early stages of planning, local communities have a much stronger influence with SSE currently. Therefore I would urge the public to submit any queries as soon as possible. I look forward to more discussions with SSE to discuss local communities questions and concerns.”
