Nanette Milne, Scottish Conservative MSP for the North East has welcomed the news that drilling activity in the North Sea rose by a third last year, according to a new report.
Business advisers Deloitte found 65 exploration and appraisal wells were drilled on the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS), compared with 49 in 2011.

“The news that drilling activity in the North Sea rose by a third last year is great news for the North East economy.
“There are still massive opportunities in the North Sea and the UK Conservative Government is determined to work closely with the industry and all interested parties to maximise this and do what we can to promote further investment and exploration.”
