Dr Nanette Milne, Scottish Conservative MSP for the North East has written to SNP Cabinet Secretary for Health and Wellbeing, Nicola Sturgeon to request a meeting to find a solution to the stalemate surrounding retained ambulance cover for Braemar.
Dr Nanette Milne, Scottish Conservative MSP for the North East said:
“It is now almost four years since Braemar lost its ambulance. Progress in establishing a retained ambulance service has been limited and there is growing local concern that no progress will be made prior to another winter.
“I have today written to the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Wellbeing, Nicola Sturgeon MSP requesting a further meeting in Parliament with North East representatives to move this issue forward urgently.
“It is clear that there are outstanding issues surrounding the ‘Agenda for Change’ Terms and Conditions and I hope that these can be overcome with the support and help of the Health Minister .
“In the meetings I have held with the Minister over the past year all interested parties have shown the willing to work to establish a retained ambulance service for Braemar and I hope that with the Health Minister’s support progress can be made to make this a reality.”
