Nanette Milne, Scottish Conservative MSP for the North East has written to re-appointed SNP Transport Minister, Keith Brown MSP seeking a cross-party meeting to take forward plans to re-open Kintore and Newtonhill stations.
She said, “The re-opening of Kintore and Newtonhill stations was raised during the recent Scottish Parliament elections and attracted wide support not only within these communities but also from both of the new constituency MSPs which cover both stations.
“It is important that local community demand and support for the reopening of the stations is listened to, and that the SNP Scottish Government look to the benefits which re-opening Kintore and Newtonhill stations could have on the environment, the local economy and local communities.
“I have therefore written to SNP Transport Minister, Keith Brown MSP seeking a cross-party meeting to see what plans the SNP Scottish Government have to take forward the re-opening of Kintore and Newtonhill stations.
“Cross-party support clearly exists to take forward plans to re-open Kintore and Newtonhill stations and it is now in the SNP Scottish Governments power to deliver these projects for the North East.”
