Nanette Milne, Scottish Conservative MSP for the North East and Cllr Katrina Farquhar, local Conservative Councillor for Aboyne, Upper Deeside and Donside have welcomed the news that Braemar Post Office is to re-open on 2nd August. The Post Office closed in March with a temporary service being provided.
She said, “This is excellent news and I am delighted that Braemar and the surrounding local area will see the re-opening of the local Post Office.
“The UK Conservative Government made a commitment that there will be no closure programme and invested £1.34 billion to secure the long term future of the Post Office network.
“Post Offices are at the heart of many of our rural communities, providing local banking services which are vital to sustaining vibrant communities.”
Cllr Katrina Farquhar, local Conservative Councillor for Aboyne, Upper Deeside and Donside said:
“The re-opening of Braemar Post Office is good news for the local community.
“The temporary post office service has provided a good, albeit reduced, service and I hope that the four day closure to re-establish the post office at Marr Road will not inconvenience too many customers and we shall look forward to the new premises opening and a much improved service.”
