Speaking ahead of the SNP conference in Aberdeen, Scottish Conservatives have labelled the SNP Scottish Government ‘the most centralising Government in history’ after First Minister, Alex Salmond, and the SNP Scottish Government have presided over cuts to North East services and the centralizing of services in Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Nanette Milne, Scottish Conservative MSP for the North East said:
“With the Scottish National Party gathering in Aberdeen for their conference this weekend many North East residents will be asking what North East services will SNP Ministers be looking to centralise next.
“The SNP Scottish Government is the most centralising Government in history. Since the SNP came to power in 2007 the North East has seen the SNP Ministers approve the closure of Aberdeen Police and Fire & Rescue Control Rooms, Arbroath and Stonehaven Sheriff Courts, and local Police public front desks. Increasingly North East residents are asking what will the SNP centralise next.
“Under the SNP the North East receive the lowest levels of funding for our local Councils, the lowest levels of funding for our local NHS Health Board and we are seeing the SNP dismantling our local Police services.
“People in the North East increasingly feel that the SNP are taking the area for granted. The SNP have become a party of centralisation that is increasingly ignoring the needs of the North East.”
