Nanette Milne, Scottish Conservative MSP for the North East has congratulated Aberdeenshire school pupils who have held a mock referendum on Scottish independence. A total of 8,718 voted no, with 2,847 voting yes.
Nanette Milne, Scottish Conservative MSP for the North East said:
“With a year to go before the whole nation decides on whether we stay part of the United Kingdom or separate it is heart-warming to see that Aberdeenshire school pupils are leading the country in rejecting separation.
“I think it is a credit to the Aberdeenshire pupils, teachers, and parents and the quality of the debate and I hope that the national debate will see an equal respect give to both sides or the argument.”
