Mearns Conservative Cllr George Carr has warmly welcomed the committent by the Aberdeenshire Alliance Group as part of their 100 Day Manifesto to fund £131k improvements at Inverbervie Beach Car Park and recycling area. “This is a project I have been highlighting for some time, and am delighted that funding has now been secured to make this happen. The car park has had some improvements over the years but is still in desperate need of a complete face lift. This area is a major focus for visitors and locals alike and interacts with the coastal walks which are becoming more and more popular.
Works will involve creating a robust and easily maintained surface at both the beach car park and the recycling area which will improve access and improve the asthetic look of the area. Tourist information provision and signage will also be enhanced.”
Cllr Carr added ” The Inverbervie Playparks Group have ambitious plans to replace and renew play equipment for youngsters in the area. The Beach area is one area we are considering as suitable for some play equipment, so any improvements to this area could tie in nicely to any future plans.”
Royal Burgh of Inverbervie Community Council will discuss this item at their next meeting with further suggestions as to how this investment in the Burgh will be best spent.
