Nanette Milne, Scottish Conservative MSP for the North East has called on the Scottish Government to develop a strategy to promote Aberdeen and the communities of the North East of Scotland ahead of the 2014 Commonwealth Games, in Glasgow.
Nanette Milne, Scottish Conservative MSP for the North East said:
“Aberdeen and the North East are the jewel in the crown of Scotland’s tourism industry.
“2012 has been a challenging year for Scotland’s tourism industry. It is therefore more vital than ever that we work to promote the region to as wide an audience as possible to help grow our local economy and create jobs and growth
“Given that the Commonwealth Games in 2014 is expected to bring many additional visitors to Scotland it is vital that the Scottish Government its partners develop a strategy to promote Aberdeen and the communities of the North East of Scotland, to encourage those attending the games to visit other parts of Scotland.”
