Nanette Milne, Scottish Conservative MSP for the North East has called on the Scottish Government to promote North East festivals on a Scotland wide basis. The call comes following news that Fiona Hyslop MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Culture and External Affairs will attend this years Aberdeen International Youth Festival.
Nanette Milne, Scottish Conservative MSP for the North East said:
“The North East is home to some of Scotland’s premier music and arts festivals from the Aberdeen International Youth Festival, Portsoy Boat Festival, to the Stonehaven Folk Festival.
“These festivals provide a great economic boost to the region and also provide an opportunity to promote the region to a wider audience.
“I would like to see the Scottish Government provide additional support and promotional opportunities to help develop these festivals across Scotland and ensure that they can play an important part in the Winning Years and Homecoming initiatives.”
