Dr Nanette Milne, Scottish Conservative MSP for the North East has called on SNP politicians not to use the NHS as a political football in the referendum campaign.
Dr Nanette Milne, Scottish Conservative MSP for the North East said:
“The inconvenient truth which the SNP cannot hide from Scots is the fact that Scotland benefits from being part of the United Kingdom as we pool health resources between our Nations including many state of the art medical treatments.
“Last year this meant 3385 Scots receiving treatment as inpatient and 16 547 as outpatient cases in hospitals in England. Like so many positive aspects of the United Kingdom this has developed between the UK NHS.
“It is becoming ever clearer that in a desperate bid to resurrect falling support for their independence campaign SNP MSPs are resorting to ever increasingly desperate tactics.
“I don’t think health should become a political football and it is disappointing that SNP Members have sunk so low. For the over twelve thousand North East residents who have received treatment in England they have first-hand experience of how we are better together as part of the United Kingdom.”
