Speaking ahead of the SNP Scottish Cabinet meeting in Aberdeen on Monday, North East MSP, Nanette Milne has called on Alex Salmond and his SNP Scottish Government to explain to the North East why the SNP Scottish Government centralisation agenda is cutting services from across Aberdeen and the North East.
Nanette Milne, Scottish Conservative MSP for the North East said:
“I welcome the fact that both of Scotland’s Governments will be in Aberdeen on Monday. However, North East residents will want to know why under the SNP the North East is seeing so many services cut and centralised down in the central belt.
“Since the SNP Scottish Government came to power in 2007 the North East has seen the most centralising Government in history – the SNP have closed Aberdeen Police and Fire & Rescue Control Rooms, Arbroath and Stonehaven Sheriff Courts, and local Police public front desks.
“Under the SNP the North East receive the lowest levels of funding for our Councils, the lowest levels of funding for our NHS and we are seeing the SNP dismantling our local Police services.
“Alex Salmond has shown zero leadership on these issues washing his hands of his SNP cuts.
“People in the North East increasingly feel that the SNP are taking the area for granted. The SNP have become a party of centralisation that is increasingly ignoring the needs of the North East.”
